Dream Types
When first discovering dream interpretation, it is important to note that there are several different dream types that exist. While this may seem sort of, duh, to say the least, it is so important to know the different dream types in order to better understand yourself and your dreams! By understanding dream types, you can better understand what emotions were at play during your dreams.

1. Day Dreams
are dreams where you let your imagination carry you in your waking hours. Usually day dreams are positive dreams to have.

2. False Awakenings
are dreams where you feel as though you are awake. You wake up inside your dream, but you are actually still dreaming.
3. Lucid Dreams
are dreams in which you are aware that you are having a dream. Usually in lucid dreams, the dreamer can control what happens in their dream. This can also become an active practice for some.
4. Recurring Dreams
are dreams that repeat themselves. You can have recurring dreams for weeks on end of just for a few days in a row. You can also have recurring dreams months apart from one another.

5. Nightmares
are dreams that cause you to wake up with anxiety or fear. These dreams are always unpleasant and always unwanted. Usually they happen out of fear and anxiety, and sometimes eating sugar before bed causes them!

6. Healing Dreams
are dreams in which you receive messages from your subconscious about your overall health.

7. Prophetic Dreams
are dreams that tell the future. While you never really know what is going to happen, your subconscious can present you with ideas about what may become a reality.

8. Signal Dreams
are dreams that help to guide you. They tell you what to do in your waking life.

9. Epic Dreams
are dreams that present you with a life-changing realization of some sort. These dreams are the type of dreams that you always remember, and that affect your waking life afterwards in positive ways.
10. Progressive Dreams
are dreams that continue on night after night. Instead of having a
new dream each night, the dream from the night before will continue. This pattern continues and forms a sequence of dreams.

11. Mutual Dreams
in rare cases, two people can have the same dream in the same night. These dreams are very rare and tend to occur between people with very strong relationships.
